Our Mission

Established in 1993, the Santa Cruz County Junior Golf Association (SCJG) is a non-profit, all volunteer organization, whose charter is to provide junior golfers between the ages of six and eighteen the opportunity to participate in an organized, safe, and fun golf program. SCJG is committed to minimizing barriers, financial or otherwise, that might prohibit participation in the game of golf.

The philosophy behind SCJG is to give junior players the opportunity to learn the rules and etiquette of golf via the Rules, Etiquette, Pace and Safety (REPS) course, to progress via clinics and lessons, and to measure progress by tournament play.

Program Goals

  • Help all players achieve an understanding and appreciation for the rules of the game.
  • Provide opportunities to advance through tournament play at each level: Green, Copper, Bronze, Silver, and Gold.
  • Provide positive feedback and awareness of the area(s) that need improvement and establish goals for skill improvement.
  • Help players develop the basic fundamental skills necessary to keep play moving ~ and have FUN!
